It was almost 3 AM when Billie turned off the bedside lamp and closed her book. She couldn't put it down and HAD to know how things ended for all the characters. Wistful, she placed the book on the floor by her bed and snuggled deep into her freshly washed blankets. They still smelled of the expensive fabric softener she'd recently splurged on. Yawning, she closed her eyes and smiled. After mumbling a quick prayer Billie began to doze off.
Sometime later, in the hours before dawn, Billie awoke with a start. She felt it more than heard it -- someone in her room, watching her. No time to scream before the phantom visitor was upon her, covering her with its weight. Her heart beating wildly, Billie tried in vain to move from the bed, to move -- anywhere -- but to no avail. Whomever or whatever was pinning her was not budging. Oddly, she didn't feel fear. She was shocked, yes, but strangly unafraid. As she began to apprise her predicament, she looked up and saw the most handsome face she had ever laid eyes on. It was a man with deep green eyes, long black hair, and a bright big smile. He smelled like Burberry and musk and pine. His skin glowed in the faint light of the moon shining thru her window. There was no malice in his expression, only lust and longing. Billie then recognized who her mysterious night visitor was...glancing down at the book on the floor, she remembered her whispered prayers for the characters to be real. The book? "Interview With the Vampire".
Just before she felt his sharp teeth pierce the hot flesh of her neck, she looked him in the eye and whispered, "Louie, you've come for me at last!" Then the agony and ecstacy of immortality began.
