| ...I guess you'd have to look at figures. How many abortions are performed each year vs. how many people convert faiths based on evangelists? (If that was what you were asking)... |

Hmm tough question. First, He is sure is gracious to women right!
3:1 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;"
And He is tolerant AS WELL as "gracious and loving.
Deut 13:15 Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword.
Later on he commands the israelites to cut babies from there anemies woms, and bash their childrens head against stone steps.
So I think your little Arbortion views are centered on how you were raised on not what th bible has said as plain as day.....then again, you might be a sunday christians who doesn't notice when the preacher leaves out the bad parts ;)
Read more of Deu! if you want to know went it is okay to beat your slave to the point of death and how one can go about selling his own daughter as a slave!
What wonderful morals the book/novel this thing has lol |

FreeThinker is using these passages WAAAAYYYYY out of context, and that is dangerous! I am so sick and tired of non-Christians doing this, and THINKING they've won an argument when they haven't. I think FreeThinker needs to seriously sit back with an OPENED MIND (as these people are famous for calling us 'closed-minded') and re-read those passages in their entirety. God does NOT tolerate sin. (That is why Jesus died and resurrected - to pay for our sins). The passage is referring to these babies growing up one day to be unrepentant and going to hell (enemies of God). Better to be gracious enough to save them the eternal torment of hell when they die as an unrepentant adult, and let them enter heaven while they're still innocent enough to go to heaven as a baby who doesn't know what right from wrong is. This passage has NOTHING to do with abortion - abortion happens when the baby is still inside the womb. Plus, all of this is WAYYYYYYYY before Christ came and paid the price of sin for us.
That whole "subject to your husbands" thing is taken out of context, too. (Unfortunately, there are LOTS of men who do this, thinking it gives them the right to be chauvenistic). If you'll read further, God says we are equal and to submit to one-another. Sure, the male ultimately has the final say, but only after the husband & wife have come to a compromise TOGETHER. The reason women are to be subjective is due to what Eve did in the garden of Eden, when she disobeyed God's commandment to not eat from the tree.
Please name the exact verse in Deuteronomy about the slave. |

i know he took them out of context, and his points arent valid, but i am not here to turn this into a political or religious debate. i have done something like that in the past and it ends up just turning to a cyclical argument that never gets resolved.
thanks though. our God reigns. we can only hope that everyone comes to a saving knowledge up Him before He comes again. |

Well I know people like freethinker have nothing better to do than come in here and start trouble. Too bad because your question/comment is a great one!
Now on to the comment. Although we want to believe that God takes all aborted children to his side, and he very well may. But there is nothing in the bible to prove it one way or the other. Messages have been taught for many years that claim there is an age of understanding, (a child that dies before a certain age goes to heaven) although this very well may be what happens, it is not stated in the Bible. It says we were born sinners and all sinners must accept Christ. So we really do not know. I believe from reading about Gods love, mercy, and his warning to never cause a child to not come to him, that he does accept children into heaven if they die before they can understand salvation. But I cannot show you in the Bible anything to back that up. Same goes for aborted Kids, I believe that they instantly join Christ, but I cannot show biblical proof! |
