I have few hobbies, but one of them is people watching. Lots of people say they like it as well, but I think my approach is a little different. I sit back in quiet as people walk past in couples, groups, and alone. I look at their habits and quirks. You can learn a lot about a person by just watching them from a distance. You can tell if they are being fake or if people enjoy their presence. A lot can be learned by just sitting and being quiet for a bit.
It reminds me of this little café in a town by my house. I could would hours sitting out in front of it on a nice warm day. I would slowly sip my coffee as I watch the different social groups over the top of my book I was pretending to read. As I see certain people, I would give them back-stories. I based them upon what they were wearing or how they acted. I never know how entirely accurate they are though. It makes me sad because I would like to know if my predictions were right or not.
You can blame me for stereotyping if you want, but there are stereotypes for a reason. People that break those stereotypes are the ones that intrigue me. They aren’t afraid to be unique among a certain social group or sub-culture. A bit off topic, but whatever.
