Followers of The Way
I don’t know about you, but I seem to have a problem with authority. Not so much following, but being told what to do. I will follow the rules, but I will challenge the purpose and legitimacy.

In saying that, I hate the institution of religion. Where do people get off by telling me the way I should live my life and then say its Biblical? When do man made rules replace Biblical principles established by Christ Himself. It is so frustrating to hear that someone is told that they “don’t love Jesus” because they held hands? Give me a break. Now do you know why people don’t except Christ? Now do you know why the church is judged? Did Christ turn away the woman at the well because she was an adulteress? Did He let the Pharisees stone the prostitute? If it were up to the religion that is “christianity” (notice the little “c” because Christ is not a focus) these days, they would be the first to toss the stone. The “holier than though” mentality reigns throughout this so-called religion. Their arrogance frustrates me to the point of wanting to scream. To the point of where I want to point my finger in their face and call them hypocrites.

We need to follow Christ’s example. I don’t think this is where He would want the religion that is named after Him. I think I would prefer to go back to the followers of “The Way”. The Way to me means in Christ’s footsteps. Not in impressions made by some sort of model you made yourself. He laid the way, its up to us to follow it. Why is it so hard? The things He taught can apply today. Not one thing do we have to change, so why do we? Take them as they are, live them, and teach them.

one reason i'm leaving the bible college. its great to follow the bible, and try to be as great a christian and person in general as you can. but no one is perfect, and i'm pretty sure God isnt going to look down upon someone holding hands. he already knows our every move, our every feeling, and i know as long as we ask for forgiveness for our sins, and we continue to live our lives through him the best we as individuals can, than thats all we can really ask for.. if your planning on staying at your school.. all i can say is try to bare it.. i hope everything works out and i hope people start realizing that sometimes its okay to live life, and not follow the rules.
