| The Mountain Ascent |
The things I want and need in life are on top of a really high mountain. I have to work hard and have to have determination to obtain them. Each climb I get stronger and every minute seems longer. Looking up but can't see the top. I can only imagine what awaits me. Hoping it will be everything I hope it will be. Temporarily losing hope and the thought giving up enters my mind when the odds laugh at my chances. It forces me to look down and tremble with dought. Driven by hope, determination, and sheer will power still makes me wonder if it will be enough. Two options are all I think about while pushing my ability to the limit and sometimes beyond. They are rise and fall. The thought of rising gives me a great reason to smile and it fortifies all of my hope. If I let go and let gravity take me down it would do more then crush every bone in my body. If I let go I will be forever crippled on the inside. This is when I realized something. I realized that only I can let myself down. The power to rise or fall is my choice.
People can try and take that power away from me but they will fail. Sometimes they are successful on other people by telling them they can't. It's better to stand up for yourself and scream shut up then not saying anything at all. Sometimes all it takes to overcome anything is a little bit of fire. Stand tall, look them in the ugly beaty eyes and raise a little bit of hell if you have to. Just make sure the message is delivered. The message that your in control and have the power and it's your damn life.
