What I want to talk about today is how Jesus won't beg for our attention, but He will do everything that needs to be done to keep us close to His side as long as we want to be there. Go watch this video and then read below the link.

What really struck me about this video was how Jesus didn't intervene while the woman was destroying herself. He just stood there waving for her attention. When she finally looked and tried to get back to Him, He pulled her close and fought back her enemies. Did you notice that he was in a crucifixion-like position while He was protecting her?
How many times in our lives do we say or think to ourselves, "why won't God do something about this?" I've been there. I've wished God would pull me out of a hole I'm in, or save me from the things in my life that hurt or destroy me. After all, they call Him the Saviour right? The answer is He did do something about it. He came and died to break the power of death and destruction on my life. But a dead God's no use, right? So He walked out of His grave in a blaze of glory! That's the Jesus I know and love.
I think this video shows a profound truth, and that is that we need to make the choice to move toward Jesus and choose to keep our eyes on Him when distractions come calling.
"Let's lay aside every weight, and the sin that so easily entangles us, and let's run with endurance the race that is set before us. Let's keep our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Sustainer of our faith."
(Hebrews 12:1-2)
