It was back to work at the prison yesterday where I spent 10 of those hours running without a break. Good way to stay in shape. That's the up side to working in a prison. One of our officers was tearful and confided in me. She, a christian, is experiencing that "Murphy's Law." Everything is happening to her at once and she is feeling barried. She asked me why God allows for adversity. I said God allows free will and lets life take its natural course sometimes. His intervention are miracles and miracles happen all around us, but we overlook them because they have become common. I also told her that adversity toughens us up and throws us into the arms of God. We cling to the Spirit when times get hard and that is where God wants us. We discussed surrendering and putting the Lord in the driver seat. We do this in faith and trust that He is in control , allowing things to work for the greater good. It may not seem like it at the time, but in the end, everything goes back to normal and we are stronger for it. These words are coming from someone (me) who has been a victim of a crime three times in her life.
When I saw her later on in the shift she had changed her tune. She was up-beat and strong. I asked her what happened, and she said, " I put God in the driver seat. I surrendered it and am letting Him take care of my problems." She gave me a hug. Best hug I had in a long time.
Got to get ready for work. My wigs came in and I am back on the mountain where my strength comes from. This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice in it.
Love you all,
Kim
