As a night-shift worker, having to drive two hours to be at range by 5 AM is hard on the body and mind of this 50-year-old. I only shoot once a year, so putting a gun in my hand would seem like risky business and even riskier when some of us are in the pre-dementia years of our lives.
Have Christian music and Sony Walkman --- will travel. I did take my music with me which gave me some peace and comfort in between shooting sessions. The Lord must have been watching because I didn't shoot myself nor anyone else on the range, and I managed to hit the target. Hallelujah!
I find it rather peculiar that I am in a profession that requires weapons proficiency and I don't particularly care for guns. I told the range instructors they could put a fly rod in my hand and I would hit the target with each cast. I have had more experience casting a fishing line than I have shooting.
I have much to be thankful for, especially for getting through six hours of range without any unfortunate incident and for making the two-hour drive home without falling asleep. God has been good to me today. Thank you Lord!
I'm Drain bamaged but happy. Put in your ear plugs because I am apt to do some audible snoring.
God's Peace to all,
Kim
