I think I'll just walk away. Takes too much fuss and muscle strain at my age to try and squat.

BDD is Body Dysmorphic Disorder. Michael Jackson, I believe suffers from it. Had I the money, I would be altering my looks as BDD tends to be the obsession of the body above the neck. Some obsess about a certain facial feature and act out differently. I obsess over my looks and hair. BDD is an OCD. I discovered I had it when I was watching Oprah Winferey years back. She had women on who suffered from it. One of them cut her hair like me. I diagnosed myself and from there I went to get help and found out my diagnosis was right on. Thanks LG for your kindness. I appreciate the light you are shining in my direction. You will get there. It's all about growth and the seeking to grow. Hugs to you sis. Kim

I feel for you and do hope you find better days. You do need to eat for good health and proper nutrition. If you are putting on weight, perhaps you might take an interest in the nutritional aspect of food. What are the healthiest foods? The more you learn about antioxidants, enzymes, amino acides, glycemic load etc. you become more aware of what you are eating. You have access to the computer and there are so many wellness sites to go to. Go to the worlds most healthiest foods. Its a web sight and tells you what is in the foods you eat. Look up the benefits of eating a low glycemic food. Google Search for food that are low glycemic. Search foods that are powerful antioxidants. It does help. Soon you will eat to get healthy. Hang in there. We all support you in your struggle. Hugs.

Actually, the bible refers to God as Spirit in the book of John. Jesus actually said God is Spirit. We refer to God as Father given the patriarchy of ancient times. Women were second class citizens. It was men who headed up the church and who were considered scribes (the writers of reliegious text) We used to use the masculine in our writings when in doubt of gender. Now we refer to the unknown as person(s).

You are growing and no doubt going through some hormonal changes which kind of upsets the balance of mind and body sometimes. Life is about change and we all have this uncanny way of resisting it intstead of flowing along with it. I was a bundle of feelings as a teenager and was very unsettled as a result. I think we all go through what you are going through intermittently to varying degrees. You are not growing old, you are blossoming into a wonderful flower. Go with the flow and look at life as an adventure. At 50, I have come to realize that the secret to joyful living is to look for the good and the positive and don't waste much energy on anything less. Grow along with good and let the other stuff fall by the way side. Take care! Huggers to you.

Some Christians have Jesus in their heart while others have Him in their mind. Each person is at a different level of growth in life and the same goes for the Christian. I agree some are unfortunately very selfrighteous and hypocritical. Love thy enemy. Forgive. Thou shall not judge. So many forget the core of Jesus's teachings, but alot do not. Christians relapse and backslide, but the true Christian works hard to change their ways, knowing they will backslide from time to time. It's kind of like relapsing when battling addictions or alcohol. Relapse is part of the process of growing towards the better. As for homosexuality that is between the individual and God. As a Christian, it is not up to me to judge for I am taught Jesus is our judge on judgement day. Same holds true for abortion. It's between God and the individual. I can't tell another what to do with their body. Good and bad comes in all shapes and sizes and in all walks of life. Where there is good, bad will be there too. You got good lawyers and bad lawyers, good doctors and bad doctors, and good Christians and bad Christians. There is the left wing, right wing, and the middle in politics. Same holds true for followers of faith. Guess I'm more liberal in my perspective on life. I leave the judging to the creator. Good post.

I agree. Overall good health and nutrition should replace the old value system of appearance and being thin.

There are agnostics and atheists on that site. The forum is not all spiritual. There is sports, scifi, politics, health, nutrition, fitness, music, and the list goes on. The people on there do not push their religion. My nephew, an atheist, is on it and has a blast. There are a host of games that he spends time playing. He also spends time in the teen corner. There are debate sections also.

Forthoughts: Jason is right on. Life is a growing process and we start out in the self and through time our vision expands outward. Takes time to mature and obtain wisdom. For some it takes less time and for others more. Those with the broader vision can lead by example. I recall the expression: "Actions speaks louder than words." Your vision is moving away from self and that is something to hold on to. Hugzzzzzzzz.

I almost forgot. I'm 49 years old and I am the happiest I've ever been. My health is the best its ever been. I love being 49 and look forward to 50. Aging isn't bad. We just make it that way by choice. With age comes wisdom, strength, and peace of mind. We get better at life as we age. Life is awesome at 49 so don't fear growing old. It is a natural life process. Enjoy right now. Look up!

What really helps is to train yourself to stay in the present. Stay in the now. The now is all we really have. The future is an illusion of time. Take each day, each moment and stay in it. Pay attention to your thinking because the mind likes to wander. Good exercise to do is look at something (anything) and observe its shape, color, texture, size and then do the same with somethingelse. Do that for about 10 minutes. It's a good exercise to get you aware of right now. Your thinking is triggering the fear. Trick is to discipline that wandering mind. Feelings are feelings. They are not fact. Remember that and tell you that when you feel those bad feelings. Look for beauty around you right now. Look at the plants, the birds and observe every detail. Good luck. Practice makes almost perfect.

You never know until you try. If it doesn't work, then you move on. It wasn't meant to be. We can walk away from each reltionship knowing something about ourselves and what it takes to make a relationship work. Practice makes almost perfect. We learn in love. There is no risk. Either it works or doesn't. You still walk away alive and stronger for the expeirence.

The most beautiful people I have known were beautiful on the inside. People who place value looks (beauty on the outside) are really shallow people. The one's with depth see the beauty of the heart and soul. Grow beautiful on the inside. As a child, I always befriended the outcasts in grade school. They were the most beautiful people I have ever known. It was a blessing and an honor to have them as my friend. Look up and don't miss the the beauty of the day.

Wotman has it right. Honestly, most people have their own mind battles and flaws that they are working through. They are far from perfect. So why worry about what other people think? The ones that are critical of others tend to be the most insecure. People who are secure with themselves don't put others down and finds the good in others. You have some wonderful traits and attributes. Hang on to those. If people don't like you, it's their loss because you are good person. Go forward with your head up. You are the light of the world. The most powerful feeling is to make another smile. Go out and make someone smile. Hugzzzzzzz.

Get a vit. C supplement. 1000 mg and take that every couple hours. Also get the Airborne (or generic version) and take that three times a day. Vit. C is water soluable. Body cannot store it. It attaches to viruses and toxins and flushes them out of your system. You cannot OD on vit. c. Newest cancer treatment for children includes a vit. C regiment of 100,000 mgs per day with no side effects. So don't short yourself on vit. C. Hope you heal fast.

I wish you success! You are on a hard road which I identify with since I deal with Body Dysmorphic Disorder and depression. Just bear in mind that the stresses from your mental health issues can also be toxic to the baby. Stress does release toxins. Should your attempts to wean off the meds becomes too difficult, perhaps you can compromise and maintain a low, maintenance dose. I take Celexa and have for over a decade. I have gone from 80mg to 40mg. Forty seems to be the lowest effective dose for me. I support your efforts and your willingness to keep fighting back. Hugs to you.

Hey there: I just had my 49th birthday. I used to struggle with aging too. For whatever reason, I have just looked at it as freedome from all those pressures that I used to bother me as a young female. I approach aging now knowing that it is a life process we all have to go through. I've decided that I am going to enjoy this life process. It's interesting how my perspective about things change with age. Changing for the better. Don't let a natural life process pull you down. Rejoice in the day. Hugzzzzzzzzzzz.

I agree with laughing gas. In addition, men are driven by the hormone testosterone which gives them that libido. We don't have that hormone in the quantity men do. Women associate sex with love and the emotion of love and generally enjoy it when it is in that context. Sex for the sake of sex just doesn't do it for most women. There has to be that passion. A womans needs are different from men and when they aren't met, we tend to feel unloved and undesirable. Sex isn't an attractive thought when we don't feel desirable or loved. There is so much more to it. Hang in there.

Gee Frizz: I have had a compassionate heart as far back as first grade. I used to befriend all those that others labeled "odd" or "ugly." I worked hospice for six years caring for the terminally ill because I have had the calling to care and minister. This compassion is just one of many gifts given to me at birth. They existed long before I even developed a faith. I was an atheist until my late thirties. I have seen so much and been through so much over the years. Now I'm nearing retirement age and will soon be considered a senior citizen. My faith in Jesus brings me such incredible joy and it hurts no one. I could be happy without being spiritually based, but there would be the feeling of incompleteness. Today, I feel whole and alive and love every moment that I am blessed with. Yes, I believe in God. I believe that we are not here by a fluke. Life is a miracle. This belief has openned so many doors to happines and utter joy. If it weren't for the evil in this world, I would swear that I was in heaven.

You are the light of the world. Remember that! Love thyself because you are worth loving. Sometimes when I get into some dark moods, I redirect my thinking and try to cheer someone up or make them smile. Give a stranger a nice compliment and watch their face light up with joy. When I do this I start to feel better about me and the world. You are light. Be gentle with yourself. May you have better days. Kim

Sometimes what we really grieve is the loss of a dream and not really the loss of the person. I believe there is someone (your soul mate out there) that has not crossed your path. When it is ment to be, it is ment to be. Time cures all. In time, you will be grateful for the direction of your life, especially when the right one comes along. Clinging is what causes hurt. When we learn to love unconditionally and learn not to cling, love near or far comes easy. Bless you, and may your hear mend quickly. So much beauty to be found in the day. Don't miss it. Take care, Kim
