Well, I left work about 2:30 or so because there was literally nothing to do. I played Tetris for a couple of hours if that tells you anything….at least it was a good start to the weekend.
But, that meant another couple of hours baking in my room. I made it through an hour before I was covered in sweat and literally had to shower because I was dripping sweat everywhere. Gross, I think so. Anyway, I knew that I had to do something when I turned off the cold shower and was immediately warm again. Fortunately, my mom left me a tantalizing voicemail telling me she made creamy cucumbers and they were waiting in central air. I was only in my room for probably another twenty minutes before I got dressed, grabbed my shit and left.
I have a new-found appreciation for being at home in the greatest state ever. I love driving on gravel roads and seeing green cornfields and storm clouds in the rearview mirror. There’s nothing else like it. I’m trying to take it all in while I can because I won’t be here too much longer probably. I have another year or so left and then I’m taking off. I don’t know where though. I feel the need to get away from the Midwest and dabble into a different lifestyle, but eventually I want to come back. I hope everything will work out the way I want it to, but you know what they say….If you want to make God laugh tell him your plans.
To add whipped cream to the pie, I just talked to my Grandma a few minutes ago. She sounds soo much better. I forgot to blog that her surgery went perfectly and they even had time to take out a couple of suspicious-looking lymph nodes in her armpit. Thank God there is no cancer left that they can find. Maybe she will be around to see me graduate :) I’m going to visit her and my aunt (she’s leaving tomorrow morning but I have to at least say hi!) early tomorrow morning so I’m really looking forward to that. Whoop whoop!!
