 Kayaking

So a few day's ago I went Kayaking with my younger sister. We live on a River so it's pretty sweet bein able to float down it whenever you want. So anyway we have all this stuff we feel we need to do before we actually get on the water. I say let's leave by 1...we NEVER leave at 1. It's always 2-2:30. We both feel it's necessary for some reason to do all of this UNnecessary packing for our HOUR long kayaking trip down the river. We fill at least 2 huge jugs up with water...we get out like 5-6 baggies so we can put our important things in them. (Like cell phones, smokes, camera's, Licenses's...? Chapstick, sunscreen, bug spray and a shit load of hair ties.) So after we pack all of our things we think we def. need we go get the kayak out. That ends up taking about 15 mins. just to open the garage door, pick it up, set it outside and then close the garage door. Something is wrong with the door so you have to do all of this weird shit to get it to shut and then once you think it's going to shut it just opens again. So after we screw around with all of that we're both sweatin balls by now. Now it's time to take the kayak down to the river. Well we both grab an end and start walking with it, but for some reason my sister thinks it's easier to set her end down and let me drag the damn thing all the way down there. And when I say all the way I mean about 30 feet.  It's not that far right? Well dragging it through weeds slows ya down a bit...and when the ground is wet and your feet are being sucked into the ground it makes it a little tough to do alone. (Little bit of background on my sister and I....She's the one that has to match her clothes with her shoes and belt and have the right eye shadow on for the day, and the shades have to be perfect for her face...she doesn't like bugs, or mud...or water???>....I on the other hand will wear polka dots with plaid no make-up, I'll eat the bugs and roll in the dirt. I'll do things I don't want to just to get them done, she on the other hand will bitch and moan and come up with a thousand excuses why she can't do something. Get the pictureSo back to us being by the river now. So we get in....her first cuz she wants me to do all the work. We start floating and now she got bit by a bug. Now she doesn't want to do it anymore. So here I come to save the frikin day and say something stupid to make her laugh so she forgets she doesn't want to do this anymore. And she dose forget, so we're good to go for now. It was really nice that day, nice dry heat, so it was awesome to just lay under the sun and float down the river. It's SO quiet and peaceful. Until she wants to bust out the baggies which are all behind me. So that ends up turning into a 10 min struggle tryin to figure out how to turn around to get them and trying to keep us going straight. I do all the steering/paddling. It hurts her arms... So everytime we go we take two oars....one for me and the other to just sit up front with her...for looks I guess. Whenever we go by a house and there's people outside she grabs it and acts like she's doing something. I would say it's pretty sad that when we go under this bridge that's being worked on, all the construction workers are always on it or under it on a boat, and they say, "Your partners not doin anything today either!" They all know she just chills up there. So after we go under the bridge the river turns into a pond....lake...I'm really not sure what it's called but it's a massive body of water. And anyway so now I have to actually paddle pretty hard to get us to go anywhere. I asked her to help that day because the waves were pretty big and they just kept pushing us back...so one person paddlin's not gonna do shit. So I asked her to help...she did...for two seconds because she "can't take that." Her arms hurt again. But now she has to pee. So I tell her to stand in this shallow ass water and squat. Well she didn't want to because she was afraid of sinking and didn't want to put her feet in it. So WHATEVER. Just fuckin do what you gotta do then. So she takes MY jug that had Ice Tea in it, fills up a 20.oz bottle, DUMPS the rest in the pond/lake and says..."Im just gonna pee in this!" Why would I sit and bitch about something she's already done so I say what the fuck ever do what you gotta do.  I end up having to shove my paddle into the sand to keep us from moving so she doesn't fall off her jug and spill piss all over the place.  She sits on it and is like, "I'm pee shy." This is coming from someone who goes to the bathroom and leaves the door open. So it's not like she's never peed in front of me before. I tell her that I closed my eyes and to just hurry up. So she ends up going and almost tips us over from standing up and sitting back down. Then she takes the jug...my jug...and dumps her pee in right next to us. What the hell was the point of that? You put your pee in the water...so why not just pee IN the water? So now that she's done and doesn't have to pee anymore we're off again. I feel this might be necessary to add in....we weren't even 5 mins from where we were getting off at...she couldn't hold it...????? So we start moving again and then we just stop...? The water got so shallow that our kayak just got stuck in the sand.... We tried scootchin....and diggin our paddles in and tryin to push...that wasn't happenin. Well who do you thinks going to get out and push us til the water gets deeper? Yep, me. I get out, with my flip flops on and start to push us. I have no clue how far it is til the water is deep enough to get back in so I just keep goin. The whole time I'm pushing my feet ARE sinking and this shits like quick sand. So now I'm havin a panic attack, my sister wont do anything to help, and on top of that it's now RAINGING. Not raining, POURING. I can't see shit...I know... I've thought about this...Why do you have to see where your going when your in a huge ass lake...like it really matters that you can see yourself taking steps when you can't even see your feet...? I don't know. But anyway rain seems to make everything worse. I start pushing as hard and as fast as I could so that I could get in and we could get the fuck out of the water.  I figured if we took forever to get into deeper water the kayak would fill up and we would drown. Or I would drown from the quick sand I was tredging through. So finnaly we get into deeper water and the kayak is movin pretty fast right now from me pushing it so far. I jump into it and there goes my fuckin flip flops. They got stuck in the damn quick sand and now I have no shoes. I get in and start paddlin like there's no tomorrow. My arms are burnin, feelin like they might just fall off at any minute. Then I asked...well TOLD my sister to pick up her effin paddle and start helping before I hit her in the back of the head with my paddle. She said somthin stupid and didn't want to help, so I did what I said I would do. She started bitching at me but I couldn't hear anything because the sound of the rain slapping the water was so loud I couldn't hear myself screaming. We finally get to where we were getting off at and she decides to pick her paddle up and help me steer into the landing... Nice. As soon as we got out it stopped raining and the sun came out. It turned out to be a nice day...like it was when we LEFT my house! I had to drag that damn kayak up a hill and for at least a half a mile to get to the truck....but before we left I felt it was necessary to play on the playground for some reason. That was pretty fun. We've went at least a hand full of times since then. And I can say, there is not one time that we go that half of that doesn't happen. We think it's a good idea, sounds fun, end up bitching the whole time! I love my sister.
