 Friends for never...
I recently found out that one of my best friends Ryan has completely ended a long time friendship with one of his best friends Tom who also happens to be a good friend of mine as well. And now they don't even acknowledge each other. No hello's, no head nods, nothing. It wasn't really a surprise though, Ryan had been telling me for awhile that he no longer considered Tom a best friend, or even a good friend for that matter.

See the problem was that Tom was terribly, terribly unreliable and inconsiderate. If he said he was going to be there, most times he wasn't. If he said he'd be there by a certain time, both me and Ryan would make bets as to how late he'd be. Every time he'd tell one of us he was 5 - 10 minutes away we'd joke with each other saying "Yeah, so... we'll probably see him in an hour or two". To this day, neither of us ever figured out what it was that made him late all the time. He was also a horrendous wingman who would usually end up cockblocking all the way through. There's a rule among men: "Bros before hos" and while most men follow this unwritten law, he unfortunately, did not.

I just find it so weird, how you can be such close friends with someone and then eventually, one day, you aren't. I mean my friend confronted him about it, laid it on the line and pretty much said "shape up dude, or we can't chill anymore" (that's the manliest way I can think of wording it) and despite all that, my other friend still acted the way he did. It makes you wonder how much he actually valued the friendship to begin with. Now I'm not here to bash on my friend, he's a cool dude and this is just the way things played out between them two. I think it's a shame though, when you lose a person you once considered a best friend.

In life, there are probably only a handful of people you'll consider your best friends. You can probably count them with the fingers of your hand. Maybe not even that many fingers. Those are the people you can trust, count on, confide in, and genuinely wish nothing but the best for. They are the ones you consider family. Don't lose them.

Friends are like a rare gem, when you find them you hold on with both hands.
I have been so fortunate in my life to have many good friends.
