Hey - How bout Dem O's - Orioles that is......

As an O's fan the 10 year drought may be over - I know - I know - Maybe I'm speaking too soon and maybe a goal of 500 is not something to jump up and down about but - the O's are 2 games over 500 in the last weekend of interleague play and if you are an O's fan you know that interleague play has been the kiss of death for the boys from B-town.   This year it appers they survived.   They began interleague play at about 500 and regardless of how the next two days go - they will be at or slightly above 500 not bad.

Andy McPhail seems to have the ship turned around and its slowing chugging in the right direction -  We may get lucky and threaten for a wild card this year - but in reality I think we may be on the verge having a great run as a team....I liken this to the early 60's just before we brought Frank Robinson on the team and it all clicked.   We may be a player or two away from this happening.

Just a side note George Sherrill is the real deal.  Johnson comes in for an inning or two and then George shuts em' down.  If the O's keep winning start looking for this one-two punch to get some press.

Guthrie is our hard luck pitcher - he deserves a much better win-loss record - It will happen

Millar, Jones, Huff, and Nick need to stay healthy

We are getting closer to the halfway mark - This is another area in which we stumble - After the Allstar break the old O's of the 70's use to get tough and gain ground in July-September time- The last 10 years we've stumbled - Hopefully this year we'll shake this problem and return to the "True" Orioles Way

Last but not least let me tip my hat to Peter Angelos - I've not been a big fan of this tenure but he seems to finally get it - Baseball by committee and owner intervention is not the way - McPhail may be our next Hank Peters - For us old Baltimore fans lets hope we've closed this chapter - It's a cautious hope but its' hope
