I wonder if that saying "The 3rd time is the charm" really is true??
I had my 2nd motorcycle rider's training class today with option for testing for my endorsement again. I was 1, yes 1, lousy stinkin point from getting it. Can you believe the instructor(s) stand out there and use a stop watch to time you during cornering & stopping in the shortest distance possible at a rate of speed of about 12-18 mph? What's with that?? I do not remember this from my 1st class. I never even saw any stop watches. To be totally honest, I don't even remember the previous class testing on this particular skill. It was almost like they were incorporating it in with another skill. :-\

I told my husband how I felt about the whole ordeal. Which is that I felt like just riding without an endorsement and just have fun riding. Who in the heck stands on side of the road and times you when you stop? That's the most ridiculous thing in the world.
The upside to this whole situation is that the instructor(s) said because my score was so close to passing they were going to allow me to retest (a third time) at no extra charge with another class coming up. I just have to call the office and see what they say. What a hassle! I felt so good through the whole class. I even got a different bike so I wouldn't have troubles with the gear levers like last time. The only thing I was frustrated about was when I had to do the quick stop skill thing; I choked a bit and put on my breaks a little too fast & hard and skidded a bit. They didn't even mention that on the score sheet.
I even prayed & begged God to make it a dry day for the class. At the very beginning there was a quick downpour shower and that was it the rest of the day.

God is good about the weather! Someone else must have prayed for rain? :) How frustrating, out there with stop watches. Why in the world does that matter? We seen 89 year olds take a month to parallel park all the time. I'm sure you didn't take that long!!!

LOL tech4Him... It was my motorcycle training class... they used the stop watches on the quick stop skill & the cornering skill. According to them there's a safe timing for both of these. Apparently my timing was unsafe? Nobody was hurt during my skills test. No damage was done to the motorcycle. I think the stop watch stuff is a bit anal.

I think the stop watch was pathetic! I think taking your time is important, better safe than sorry?? You probably would have breezed through it if they weren't standing there with a stop watch distracting you!

tech4Him... You got that right! I was one of the better riders in that class. I only saw a few good riders. Some of the men were pathetic. They all passed but me and one other gal. That same gal was in my original training class back in November. Poor thing. She doesn't have a motorcycle at home to practice with.

Well, I am glad that you get to take the test again with the next class without charge ... that is always a good thing. Shoot, you earned it .. they tormented ya!
I wouldn't take motorcycle class if I couldn't ride a bike and practice! I'd kill myself!
