There we were minding our own business and eating our fast food that we just got through the drive-thru. We pulled into a parking spot so we could eat because we were in sort of a hurry to make another function in another city. It was dark and on a busy street. A luxury car pulled in the parking lot across from where we were parked. The car was, at the most, 10 feet away. A man got out and crossed over the small concrete barrier that separates the parking lots to get to the pay phone. I thought it was very strange that a man with a luxury car had to use a pay phone.
So, the story ensues... the man from the luxury car finished his phone call and headed back to his car. We're enjoying our fast food. All of a sudden... my husband laid on the horn as the luxury car is backed around to pull away. From what I could see I thought my husband was getting his attention to turn his headlights on. I told him to stop. Then my husband told me that the car just knocked over a man in the parking lot and my husband was pointing... I then leaned forward so "I could see" and there a pedestrian was on the ground behind the car. The pedestrian struggled to get up and was yelling at the guy in the car. The guy in the car stopped to look back and said something, I couldn't hear him, to the pedestrian and was waving at the pedestrian as if to say "c'mon". Then as the pedestrian moved closer to the front of the car the car just bolted and took off. The license plate was very visible and my husband got the information then called 911. After a 1/2 an hour of all this we were able to depart.
We made it to our function more than 30 minutes late.
Then today, the police called my husband and asked him to come to the police station to identify the suspect. He was told by the officer that one of the two men he picked out was the suspect. The police are on the look out for this suspect. Hit & Run is very serious here.
It was messed up. I'm glad we were there to help the guy who got hit. He was taken to the hospital via ambulance. His poor wife came from their home a few blocks away. She was quite distraught. And I don't blame her. Apparently the man who was hit was headed to the bus stop to go get their grand-daughter from daycare. |

Wow, what an experience! Poor guy! And hat is incredibly odd that he used a cell phone and has a luxury car! Hidin' something!

I think you meant a pay phone, not a cell phone. We thought it was quite odd that he used a pay phone too. The police think there's narcotics involved.
