 Patriotism: Joe's or John's?
Well, I am very excited.  There is now a new test to prove my patriotism.  All I have to do is vote to increase my taxes.  I thought there was going to be so much more required of me.  However, Joe Biden, with smile on face, assures me that all I have to do is gladly and willingly step up and pay more taxes.

I must confess that I have two small problems with his announcement.  First, like me, Joe makes over $250,000 per year and he already pays less tax than I do.  So, I am not sure he is qualified to lead this march on patriotism.  Secondly, he is not in favor of allowing people who make less money than we do to have this opportunity to prove their patriotism.  Somehow that sounds like classism and it appears a bit unfair.  Good for me because I want to prove my patriotism.  Bad for those poor souls who won't have the opportunity to prove their patriotism in the same fashion.

On the other hand, John McCain proves his  patriotism the old fashion way and has the record to prove it.  I think I will give him the clear edge on that subject.  So, Joe versus John on patriotism clearly goes to John.  I think I'll vote NO CHANGE on that subject.

I guess if we vote for Obama we'll all get to show our patriotism soon. Somebody's going to have to pay for "free" healthcare, college educations and billions more.

So what are you saying...that we keep giving a pass to all the mess and huge deficits.
Is it fair that no one has to pay ever and what does that do to the problem. I'm not saying that both parties aren't at fault. Because they are. The solution to fix the problem is then..no new taxes..let them keep the money and what, hope it trickles down to the poor ones (not really working for me..and I'm definitely one of the poor ones).
All I keep hearing is that the rich keep getting richer and keep finding new ways to hide it so no one can get it. That's been our modis opporendi for the last eight years. So, then we have another suggestion on the table..do I know if it will be better..no..am I willing to cling to the status quo..no..So hold on to your seats and be a maverick..Try something new.
