 My Life in a Nutshell
So N had a date last night and got roses. It made her happy so that makes me happy. In contrast,  I woke up this afternoon after working a 13 hour night shift, and knowing I will be working another one tonight, and before my eyes could even focus heard, "Hi. If you go anywhere, I need cigarettes. And can you get me McDonalds?" as my wife was coming back to bed. I then got to clean up the half dozen places one of the cats puked.

My wife did say thanks when I got back. I'm cooking my dinner now so I can eat before going to work. (I've had enough McDonalds during my marriage.) What a life.

This is a sad situation, and you need to stand up and make some changes before you become homicidal (put save the cat, please - at least it doesn't know how to behave any better).

Perhaps your wife needs to be reminded that she really can be replaced.

i think that maybe your life simply paled in comparison to the bright, flowery happiness N had because of her date.
my life always seems pretty damn sad when i compare it someone else's who may have a little more excitement going on.
where do you work again?
