 Miracles
When I was a kid, my best friend's brother told us an amazing story. He was riding in a car with his mom when he was younger on a country road. As they were approaching a small rise in the road his mom suddenly pulled off the road. He said he asked his mom what she was doing. She replied, "I have a really bad feeling." Just then two cars racing side by side crested over the hill. If she would not have pulled off the road there would have been a head on collision at high speed.

I was reminded of this story when I read about a woman who was driving in a rain storm at night. She was being careful but suddenly she saw a deer dash in front of her car. She slammed on the brakes but could not stop in time. She pulled off the road with her heart pounding and noticed the rest of the deer feeding by the side of the road. A couple minutes later police cars raced past her and one of the officers stopped to ask if she was okay. She explained about the deer. He looked for the dead or injured deer but couldn't find it. He then looked at her vehicle and found no damage or sign that she struck a deer. The office then told her, "I don't know about any deer, but it's a good thing you stopped. There is a 10-car pile up just ahead."

A good friend reminded me last night that miracles do happen, They may not be as dramatic as in the examples above but they are there. We may not even notice them. Most are subtle. A chance meeting, a different route taken, a quote in a  magazine.

I believe a miracle can even be perceived as a curse at first glance. You lose your job. Then get a better one. Your lover leaves you for another. Then you meet someone you love even more. You lose your wallet. Then you meet a wonderful person when you go to get your license photo retaken.

Yes, I believe there are miracles.

thank you ... Miracles are what makes us all believe in better times.

And yes its so easy to forget about them when you are going through a rough patch.
