I had a college professor who lamented that, while he had traveled all over the world, his plane had never been hijacked. (This was pre-911.) "Nothing exciting ever happens to me," he said.
I think I know what he meant. I have a theory that life is really about taking the garbage out. Not just that of course, but all those little tasks that we do daily or weekly that take up our time. It is so easy to get wrapped up in that stuff that we forget that there is more to life than work and television and mowing the lawn.
Maybe we all just need to do something stupid every once in a while just for fun.....not harmful, just silly. Like what? Hmmmmmmmmm.
Tell the cashier at the store that her eyes are really beautiful whether they are or not....claim to be a doctor who specializes in penal implants.....go dancing and dance like Travolta (Saturday Night Fever or Pulp Fiction)....sing kareoke....question a male store clerk about the effectiveness of feminine hygene products....explain to a telemarketer that you would love to talk but there is a fire in the house right now....Send a picture of a friend with a fake press release to the local paper and see if they print it......play an instrument badly....
On a more serious note.....kiss someone you love just because.....send a lonely person flowers from a secret admirerer.....tell a store manager how wonderful one of his clerks is.....thank the garbage man for doing such a good job.....look at the stars and realize how big and how small the world is.....love unconditionally....take joy in the happiness of others....make yourself happy.

i love what your getting at, these things should be done everyday. and i believe everyone needs to be silly. who cares what others think, do something stupid just because. and laugh at yourself. I suck at sports, and i know i do, friends asked me to play and i would, they would get a kick out of watching me fail miserably, but i would laugh it up as well. Sending big hugs your way! By the way, your a great man, with a big heart.

I couldn't agree more, very well said...and once I did tell a telemarketer than I had to go because my cat was on fire.
