Have You Seen My Soul Mate?
Did you ever meet someone and immediately feel a connection with that person? Maybe it was a love interest, a friend, a mentor? Someone at a party, a co-worker, a person at the grocery store?

I'm not a big reincarnation guy. To loosely quote Crash Davis in "Bull Durham," "Why do people always believe they were someone famous in another life. Why doesn't anyone say they were Joe Smoe?" Still, it is an interesting thought.

What if no one gets into heaven until we live a life as pure as Ghandi in this world? What if we just start over? And when we start over, what if we recognize souls from past lives? The people we loved unconditionally?

I guess we are always seeking explanations and this would explain a lot. How can we know someone so well who we just met? How can we understand just what that person is feeling? How can what we feel override our commonsense about what is best?

Now, I don't believe we meet these people every day, or even every year. I think it is a rare and beautiful pleasure. It is like we are looking for something, searching everywhere - the car, the house, the freezer - and we don't even know what we are looking for. Maybe what we are looking for is that soul from that past life. That person who made life worth living.

 Nice thought, huh?

A bittersweet thought. But it fits well. There certainly are persons you find along the way and you just "click" together. Life is such a mystery -- so many unanswered questions! But if it wasn't mysterious, would we still want to live it?

that moment that passes you by plays on in your head for days, years. If only i'd stopped and said hello..i've had many...soul mates? maybe not but connections...yes. i still almost turn onmy heel and go back for more..but something stops me..maybe the doubt that it might not be real.
