 4/18/2008 2215 Temperatures Dropping
I just noticed outside that the temperature have dropped because my feeder have started to freeze up.  My first inclination was to pull me feeders in and put them in the refrigerator (after thawing them out) and then re-put them out in the morning.

However, since I will not be home tommorrow, I pulled them in and emptied them.  I will redeploy with fresh nectar before I leave in the morning.  Most of the feeders are in closer to the house and thus will be a little warmer.  I will keep the heat on during the day as well to hopefully keep things as warm as possible.  I am also making new nectar on a 3 to 1 to as this will allow a lower temperature before the nectar freezes.

If I could, I would put out a small heat lamp out but such is life.

I fear that some of the little guys will not survive the next few days.  Unfortunately that is nature.
