Yesterday, the news reported a 2 year old baby girl being strangled by a 6 /12 foot albino python .... WTH?
This happened in Florida [where I live], and in this near tropical climate, people love to have exotic pets like snakes, but unfortunately these people forget that these snakes get big and eventually need to be fed larger animals; and once you can no longer feed the snake enough "pinkies" (unborn frozen mice), you need to move on to something larger like rabbits, or turn them loose in the wild where they can possibly pose a greater danger to wildlife and the environment, not to mention children.
The pets are no longer cute when you see them squeeze that cute little rabbit to death and swallow it whole ... or maybe your cute little baby in the crib.
The news played the 911 call to police of the man sobbing on the phone because his pet python had just strangled his baby girl to death; then they showed the snake being removed from the home by animal control technicians ... Are you kidding me!
The owner of that snake should be put to death himself, for three reasons: first, for even having a snake that size with a child in the house; secondly, for not feeding the snake, becauseif its not hungry, it would have no reason to kill a child; and finally, because once the child was strangled to death, he did not kill the snake immediately!
Snakes have no purpose in a home with a 2 year old child! They provide nothing of value to a home; they are not entertaining, the are disobedient, they are not good for home security, they eat small children, they refuse to eat scraps from the table ...
And thats not all, this is the second time Animal Control has been called to this man's house because the snake was not being properly confined. He had an aquarium covered with a blanket tied to the top ... WTH? What a dumb-ass!
That is worse than having a loaded pistol in an aquarium with a child in the house, because the pistol wont sneak out at will and kill someone!
I was so disgusted with this story, I just had to share it with you.
