I love romance. I love my boy. I love sweet thoughtful gestures. I just don't like Valentines Day. I never had a Valentine and my parents didn't believe in it, so Feb 14th was just another day.
When I met my boy, he spoiled me on our first Valentines together. He surprised me with flowers and a little teddy and made me dinner. The next year, he surprised me at work with another cute little teddy and chocolates.
Last weekend, he was home and we got a pill and spent all night talking and all day making love. I told him I don't beleive in Valentines and he said he wouldn't get me anything this year. He told me that he felt guilty for not getting me anything, but he knew that I was going to love him anyway. With the Dreaded Ex, he always had to go all out and spend a fortune and make big gestures, otherwise she would go off at him and not talk to him for a week or two and then accuse him of not loving her blah blah blah...
I told him I don't care. As long as he tells me he loves me and we spend time together all through the year, he doesn't need to make romantic gestures on one particular day. I don't need fancy jewellery or expensive dinners and flowers that die in a week to know he loves me.
Although, I'm going to a lingerie party on Monday, so I may just get myself something especially for him!! Hehe...
