Hi there, I got divorced this year ... the process is you go to court, and then 1 day and 1 month after the court hearing, which unless she's objecting to something, is really just a registrar rubbing stamping the papers, he will be officially divorced.

Of course the documents don't arrive straight away, and I didn't have to go to court. Only my ex did. because he was the one who filed for it.

I was told I could go if I wanted, but I'd be bored and under-whelmed by the whole process. Apparently it's like herding cattle, 20 couples or representatives go in every 20 minutes, and so long as it is straight forward it's just a formality.

I got the papers about 2 weeks later ... Hmm YEP I'm a divorcee... :(

Well, I don't know your whole story, but divorce is never fun. My parents went through it, and somehow, years later, the fam still isn't over it. I hope everything goes as smoothly and quickly as possible for you!

But in response to Fracture, it ended very well! My boy got the divorce, and not long after I wrote this my boy got a job in Brisbane. We have been up here for nearly a year now! And we've made some great friends in our neighbourhood!
