 Being what God wants
As I read the daily devotional in "Our Daily Bread" from RBC Ministries on today, I began to think about how we pray to God and expect Him to answer certain prayers very quickly because we want something so badly and are totally overlooking the fact that it may not be in His will for us.  We then begin to try to do things to ensure that we receive the answer that we are looking for.  This is a boundary that we should never overstep.  When praying, we should always end with "Thy Will Be Done" and mean it.

I have been guilty of crossing this boundary many times because I am not thinking about what God wants.  I am thinking about what I want.  Many of us will quote John 14:13, paraphrased, and say that the Lord said whatever we ask in His name He will do just that.  Well, God gave us standards that we must live by, and He told us to seek after Him and all of His righteousness and all these things He will add to us, Matthew 6:33.  Are we abiding by His commands?  If so, then we will seek to know His will and try to walk in that.

There is a part of a song that basically Take my will and transform it to Yours, oh Lord.  This is my prayer.

I'm thankful that He does answer our prayers. I respect that his answer can sometimes be NO or WAIT. He's God, and He does a better job of knowing what is best in my life than I do. Thank you for making me think!

If we are walking right with God, and have faith in Him, He will give us what we ask him for, As long as you can find a promise in the Bible that covers you need. Jesus said,
"Whatever you desire when you pray, Believe that you have [Already got it] and you shall have it". God will never, never say NO, to what He has already provided for us through Jesus,The trouble is, a lot of Christians don't know what is theirs in Christ. The prayer of faith always ends, Amen, That means, [ It Is so, and shall be manifested]. The prayer of concecration ends, Thy will be done, the prayer of doubt ends, If it be thy will.
