lastblastkl,
Have you ever been able to look him in the eye, while he is being an a## and say, you know for all the sh%t you have done to me, I must forgive you...
I know that is probably the last thing you want to do...But maybe, just maybe,if you said that to him it may make him realize how much he has hurt you....I don't know what he is like, but are you two ever able to atleast be civil enough for a conversation, without the fist flying?? |

prelud2it,
Thank you for your sweet comment.I know how hard it is to forget all the wrong. But if we all try to forgive with a heart of God, the forgetting will become easier...... |

Davis,
Your comment has brought tears to my eye, because I am not worthy of such praise...for I did not write this....The wording is so perfect here that I couldn't do it much justice..haha. I do alot of reading on the internet, and if I find something that will bring hope to the hopeless, or joy to the joyful, or peace to the brokenhearted...it is then I will put it on here....And whoever wrote this, did not leave a name...Or else, whoever did would receive the honor of your comment...But I do so appreciated it......Thank you Brother Davis. GOd's vessel is only part of me..For I am His child...Blessings brother.. |

I was once told that the only time you should ever be selfish is when you are forgiving someone because not forgiving someone is only hurting yourself!
Makes sense to me!
Great post!

I loved the idea about basing forgiveness on faith and will not on feelings. We alone can't forgive 100%, but God gives us the ability through faith. Lovely post, Hollis! This was such a beautiful lesson on forgiveness, I needed to hear that today. Thank you for posting it.
Love and blessings! XXX |

Finally, it is written somewhere what I have always said and lived by. You can't TRULY forgive someone unless you forget as well. How can you forgive someone for something, but then say, "but I will never forget you did that."? Just by saying those words, means you are holding some resentment. Therefore, you truly are not forgiving them completely. If you forgive, you forget and move ahead. Period! I have taught my kids that...and I live that way.
We all need forgiveness at times!
Thank you for posting this.
God Bless!!! |

TJ,
I agree with your comment 100%...When we do nothing but dwell on our hurts, and do no forgiving, we will forever feel lost and hurt, but when we forgive that person, Life becomes happy again..Thank you for your comment.
Easter Blessings to you my friend.. |

Ellie,
I have found that I am hurting more when I can not forgive..Alot of times I need to ask God to forgive me for hanging on to it for so long and to forgive me for not trusting him to heal my heart...
May the Lord watch over you my sweet Ellie.. |

kd,
That is just so true..the resentment we hold in our hearts toward that person, is only hurting us, not the one who hurt us...SO why should I keep the pain, if I want to move on???I have to do both...FORGIVE AND FORGET...
Thank you for your comment.... |
