 Broiling Steaks... 12-5-07
As I begin this blog tonight, way after supper is over , I have to sit and laugh at it all...Let's just begin with Steaks in the oven is not a fun thing.....
It all starts out fine.Have the broiler on and steaks are seasoned and ready to go into the oven. Within five minutes(it seemed like) I hear all this snapping and stuff and think to myself, what in the world is all that noise?............ Oh shoot I forgot I got steaks cooking and kids fighting with each other over small stuff. So I rush to the oven and open the door and all this smoke comes out at me.So I turn around and open the window and within a few seconds the smoke detectors in the kitchen is screaming out loudly ,  and next thing you know the second smoke detector is going off. At this moment I am thinking to myself, now I see why steaks on the grill are so much better...SO after I shut the smoke alarms off and flip the steaks for a nice even color to both sides, and rush  over to the computer to check into thoughts.com to see whos on......here comes the loud screaming of the smoke alarms again. So the kids come running into the kitchen to here Mommy screaming at the smoke alarms to shut
the bleep up , the kids open the oven because there is smoke all over and they decide to try to shut the smoke alarms off. Jump up on the swivel chair goes my six year and he starts screaming as his little body could not reach it and down to the floor he goes.......Oh Lord what's next? So mommy runs to him and tells him it will be okay over the loud screams of the alarms,so he thiinks I am yelling at him so he begins to cry louder.......Oh heck the steaks are still in the oven......Get them out and my other son is running around with a flyswatter trying so hard to fan the smoke away from the smoke detectors to shut it up,as he too is to short to reach the button.....Finally the loud noises are quiet,so Mommy gets the plates out to give the boys supper. As I begin to cut up their steaks it is like cutting shoe leather. But my boys said "that's okay Mommy we will eat the steak" Wasn't that sweet of them....And at last we sit down to burnt steak and give Thanks to Our Lord and Saviour that we still have our home......

Moral to this blog of mine?? Never try to broil steaks, talk on the phone and check your blogs at the same time.....May God bless you to not have a burnt supper any time soon...Tongue outKiss
