 Saving Fish from Drowning
"A pious man explained to his followers: "It is evil to take lives and noble to save them. Each day I pledge to save a hundred lives. I drop my net in the lake and scoop out a hundred fishes. I places the fishes on the bank, where they flop and twirl. 'Don't be scared,' I tell those fishes. 'I am saving you from drowning.' Soon enough, the fishes grow calm and lie still. Yet, sad to say, I am allways to late. The fishes expire. And because it is evil to waste anything, I take those dead fishes to the market and sell them for a good price. With the money I receive, I buy more nets so I can save more fishes."

self justification at it's finest- an art we are far too good at- a PIOUS man- that says it all. I like your site- a nice mix of material. a little mystifyed by the post on "fear"- but that's OK.

Sounds like the defence of a con artist. Be wary of those born a monkey year, for they are known to have silver tongues and can talk their way out of any troubles to get what they want...or so I've read:P

I wondered if anyone would 'get' this. I was just reading a bunch of blogs and this stuck out in my head-people always seem to want to justify what they are doing as right.

Quote is actually a chinese one-so just might have been from a monkey year after all.

LOL! He's not saving the fish, he's killing them! >:(

Exactly :D that's the point. He's trying to justify his bad behaviour by making it out that he's 'right' and 'good' when all he is doing is killing. Granted, he's making a living and whatnot. But it's interesting
