Wow, I thought I was the only mother who talked about sex to her son. But somehow, I talked to my son more of responsibility like for exp: "To date a girl is not just for having sex with her".Or "if he makes a girl pregnant, he has to be responsible", etc. So it is more of moral issues.

By the way, it seems that you still have a close family connection in Germany. My husband is Dutch and he moved to Australia in 1966.
