A watch is not just a utilitarian device that shows the time but also a fashion statement and more so for women. Though the functional motivation of wearing a watch may be to see the time, communicating technological functions and style are more important while targeting men than women. Women also wear their watches as a fashion accessory the way they wear jewellery. Watches have to make them look and feel good and hence there is also an emotional motivation present here. To have a greater appeal and to differentiate themselves for women, women’s watches need to establish an emotional connection as well.
