| Reflections on the Elections

During the 2008 Elections, the candidates are promoting "Change" for our Country. It seems that everyone wants this, but change means different things to different people. I happen to believe that the change we need is to clean up the corruption in our Congress! This is because Congress is now in a deadlock, caused by their own political selfishness, and nothing gets done there. Our congressmen love Congress just the way it is, so if any changes are going to happen, it must come from the people, as it will never be done by the politicians! As I listen to our candidates, and their campaign promises, there's very little in their speeches about cleaning up the corruption now rampant in our government. It's all about holding out the biggest carrot (bribe) to the American people; promising to give us, in return for our vote, whatever they think we want most, such as tax breaks, jobs, gas, etc. (regardless of the cost). Ours needs are so great that we want to believe them, but can't we see that it's the corruption in Congress that creates these needs in the first place (by preventing the necessary bills from being passed). And the bills that are passed are always watered down and loaded with as much pork as they can get for themselves. They always put themselves ahead of the people, and the country, and with both sides fighting each other for their own selfish interests, nothing promised to us ever gets passed! If our country is going to survive, we must clean out the corruption in Congress first, or we're going to loose everything! History shows us that when a government is as corrupt as ours is now, it's on a downward spiral to oblivion! It's very obvious that change is never going to start with the politicians, so it's going to be up to people, like you and me! We must continue to press for change - not only before the elections, but, also, after the elections. We must keep the Mirror of Truth constantly focused on each politician, and by the sheer power of public influence, force them to make the changes we want (and that they have promised), or else vote them out! From now on, we must know their record, keep up with what they are doing, & let the rest of the public, know too! This must start immediately. We have no time to lose! Will you join the rest of us who are saying, "We're as mad as h*##, and we aren't going to take it any longer!" Please leave your comments and let me know what you think! This is going to be an ongoing blog - just as often as I can find the time. Thanks, Gola
