 The U. S. President
The President of the United States isn't very intelligent, but he's very, very elequent when reading a teleprompter or reciting a speech he's memorized. He doesn't know much about our history or country. During the Presidential campaign he claimed to have visited all 57 states except two of them. The United Sates has only 50 states Mr. President. 48 of them are called the continental U.S., one is an island paradise and the last is separated from the rest of us by another country called Canada. Shouldn't you know this?

Our President bowed very low instead of just politely nodding his head to a Saudi King. Apparently he doesn't know our founding fathers weren't very fond of kings. That's why they got rid of one and invented President's.

Our President declared the United States in not a Christian nation. That's because he doesn't understand the Constituion and possibly hasn't even read it. The U. S. Constitution say's "the state shall establish no religion", not that there is "seperation of church and state". That's nowhere in our Constitution or our Bill of Rights. If I'm not mistaken, all of our founding fathers were Christians except one which was Jewish. The Christian faith was started by a Jew, Jesus. In our Constitution the founding fathers made several references to God. If "separation of church and state" were in the Constitution, it would have been declaring itself illegal. Our President even said, "You might consider us a Muslim nation". No, Mr. Prseident, we are not a Muslim Nation. Our nation is founded on Judeo-Christian priciples, not the sharia. But we are a nation that is tolerant of all religions. That is why Islamic terrorists are trying to kill us. They have little faith in their own religion. If they had faith in Islam, they could convert people withour resorting to murder of innocent people, including other Muslims.

What the Constitution garauntees, Mr. President, is that the state cannot make us worship in any way by adopting a federally sanctioned religion. All religions are welcome here as long as they don't include human sacrifice or something equally disgusting.

Our President makes very hasty decisions in some cases (Gitmo, Obamacare) and very slow decisions in others (Afghanistan, where he still hasn't made a decision). Gitmo won't be closed by when he promised even though we are spending millions of dollars to do it. The administration has mishandled the closing and it's running way behind schedule and over budget. "Obamacare" may not pass the Senate because it is a badly written bill.

In war, Mr. President, indecision costs the lives of our soldiers. Military officers are not allowed to be indecisive and you're their boss. You are confusing your politics with our military by tying your decision on Afghanistan to what Kharzi does. If our Generals in the Pentagon or on the ground in Afghanistan are requesting more troops, don't put them on hold until you see what somebody else is going to do maybe sometime in the future. Our generals asked for the troops so they could end the war with the fewest U. S. and Allied casualties as possible by not allowing our enemies safe havens to attack us from.

How is it Mr. President, that I dropped out of a college (whose standards weren't consider high by some academics) after just wo years to join the Army. You went to Ivy League Schools and I know more about this country than you do? You are my President. I respect your office. But you are not my leader.

To those of you in other countries, now's the time to strike if you wish us ill and want to take advantage of us. Our President is in way over his head. Plus, we're all Politically Correct here now.

"If I'm not mistaken, all of our founding fathers were Christians except one which was Jewish."

Actually, most were simply Deists. The men responsible for building the foundation of the United States had little use for Christianity, and many were strongly opposed to it. They were men of The Enlightenment, not men of Christianity. They were Deists who did not believe the Bible was true.

You wish. I realize you are a Deists and that's okay. But have you read the Constitution and references to God? Nothing in there is ambiguous. What part of religious freedom do you not understand? The King of England established the Church of England as the official religion of England so he could get a divorce. Many of our forefathers, including mine from Scotland, fled the old world to the new for religious freedom. They didn't have any foggy deists among them. Where do you get your information? Please cite me a source. I want to investigate it and see if it has any credibility. If your source and you are right and our founding fathers, despite the language in our Constitution, were Deists, I will publish a public apology to you here on thoughts.com

PS: Thank you MisterSelfDestruct for writing. Seriously. You're comments are always welcome here. I love debate and I realize and accept not everyone thinks as I do. I want to encourage anyone else who disagrees with me to speak up also.

And do you realize that Deists believe in "God"? Doesn't make them Christian. Hell, Satan himself believes in God.

"Where do you get your information? Please cite me a source. I want to investigate it and see if it has any credibility."

I am working on a research paper as we speak as to America being a "Christian nation" and debunking that myth.

But, when it all comes down to it the bottom line is I can debunk every argument you have and vice versa so we won't get anywhere at all, but hell... it's still fun to try, isn't it?

Good response. And you're right, it's fun to debate. Usually you learn something. I really don't know much about deists. I think I thought Deists were kind of like agnostics.

I agree Satan believes in God. He's just furious because he isn't one. Christ was not a Christian either. He was a Jew who, during a passover meal, turned it into a communion and predicted his death.

Hi Gary. Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Benjamin Franklin and George Washington were all well known deists.

Hi Steve. Thanks for your post and straightening me out. Now that you mentioned it I do vaguely remember hearing that. Always glad to hear from you.
Gary

But most of the founding fathers were Christians
(Couldn't help but try to get in the last word. LOL)

Just to prevent the last word scenario: Jefferson even went so far to cut (literlly) every supernatual reference out of the Bible that he could find.

Also as far as I am aware, although I freely acknowledge: US history is not my forte, the bestAmerican historians agree there were seven founding fathers.

If that is true, then you are perfectly correct because you named four Deists. I don't really know what Deists believe. I tend to think of the founding fathers, however, as those who signed the Declaration of Independence.

Bwa-ha-ha-ha-haaaa. I'm still trying to get in the last word, Steve. Always good to hear from you.
