 I'm a patriot, not a sucker
I suspect I am going to offend a lot of people with this post. Guess what? I don't care. I started this blog to write what I think, not to be popular. But I believe in a free exchange of ideas. If you are a confirmed Liberal or Conservative, I'm probably going to offend you so leave this now before reading.

Okay, I've warned all of you in previous posts, I'm not a Liberal (thank God) or a conservative. I put the "Thank God" part on the Liberals because they are the current ones we elected to destroy America. I'm an independent moderate!!! Yea me. I encourage all of you to be one and declare "I think for myself".

I did NOT swear an oath to any earthly human being, including our President. I swore an oath to my country and it is still in effect for me.

Buy American? Maybe sort of. I don't like buying crap, no matter who makes it. There was a time when American made vehicles meant the very best. Then in the fifties the auto industry became more fixated on tail fins than quality and dependability. After my family and before my life my country comes first.

Folks, I am a dyed in the wool Capitalist. Capitalists innovate things to improve our lives as they search for an advantage in the market place. Forward this to Liberals who think it is okay for an American combat veteran to buy a Japanese product. Forward this to conservatives who think blowing your money on an inferior product is okay. I own a American Dodge pick-up and a Toyota Yaris. I bought what I wanted and not what someone told me to drive. My Yaris gets 40 MPG!

I'm an American. I want our industry to once more be known for excellence in what they provide because they are the best once more. I don't have enough money to waste it on inferior products. Wake up conservatives and Unions, demand more from our industries. Don't  waste your time trying to convince us to accept less. Do you really want to stop the hemorrhage of jobs overseas? BUILD A BETTER PRODUCT!!! STOP whining.

Leftists, you are destroying my country. Before long, i will have no freedom to choose on my own. I will have only what the government allows me.

Liberals and Conservatives, I am a moderate independent and unlike what Rush Limbaugh says, I'm not wishy-washy and unable to make up my mind. And Rush, if you get this,  just because someone disagrees with you but doesn't pledge themselves to Liberals, doesn't mean they can't make up their minds or we don't know what to think. Moderate Independents are totally free thinkers. And Liberals, you don't get a pass. You're party is destroying my country and putting my great great grandchildren in deep debt the way George Bush started to do and Obama is adding to at a breathtaking pace. I'm a moderate independent Rush. I don't owe my loyalty to you or anyone else. Think of me as a wimp if you want. I only owe my loyalty to my family and country.

As an aging American warrior, I can't lead the way. But I want to see an Independent moderate rise up an take charge saying "stop this madness" and I will help Thai person in any way I can. We truly need such a man or woman. All countries do.
Gary
BTW: Just because I criticized Rush Limbaugh by name does NOT mean I want him silenced. He has a right to speak his mind and even be wrong. I have that same right. Long live freedom!!!

Hello there,
I must say you made some very good points. I am a moderate, republican. My Government beliefs are more towards the right and my social views are more towards the left.
"I'm an American." I loved your post, you just declared yourself and was completely honest. More people should be like you.

May your night peaceful,
*Miss Nightmare*

P.S. I can decide who I like better, Rush (The guy who causes tons of chaos) Or Beck(The other guy that causes tons of chaos and gets more ratings for FOX). I will admit though, I read Becks book.

Welcome Sister and thank you for replying. You let me know I'm not alone in the wilderness. I don't expect everyone to agree with me. I just want them to think and be honest and not be lemmings. I'm like you. I am an economic conservative and a social liberal. You and I are on a tightrope.

I've done the "buy American" car thing, but I got tired of sitting in the repair shop waiting for parts to be fixed or replaced. Now I buy Honda and Toyota. Neither has failed me. Both outlast the payments. Other than usual maintenance, the cars never require my attention, my time or my money. When someone accuses me of being unpatriotic it shows what an idiot they really are.

When Americans start building cars that equal the foreign workmanship, I'll start buying them.

Good for you independent thinker! When I was a teen "Made in Japan" on a product meant "cheap crap". It isn't that way now. I think they have even surpassed the renowned German engineers. After WWII Japan kick-started it's economy by making cheap, flimsy copies of American products. Then they got better and better. Americans! Don't buy crap. Capitalists! We have the flimsy part down pat. Now let us try cheaper and better like the Japanese and see what happens.
