| MHFU boss tips 4* |
Remember how I said "I'll post 4* when I beat a certain one-horned monster"? Oddly enough, I just beat him yesterday. So, for those of you who are already 4* or have the play speed of a hummingbird, here's the 4* bosses! Note: Tigrex and Kushala Daora have been omitted. Kushala Daora will get his own section, so I'll group Tigrex with the 5*.
New Location: Volcano; an area filled with heat hazards, health-sapping lava, and high rank gatherables. Want that Hercudrome or Dragonite ore? They're here! There's also Firestone at the summit.
Some information has been obtained Via GameFAQs.
Yian Garuga
Weapon: Water Elemental
Breakables: Ears, Beak, Tail, Claws
Notable Moves: Rathian-esque Fireballs and tail flip
Location: Jungle
Notes: This guy is not that hard. How to describe? Imagine the punk child of a Kut-Ku and a Rathian. It is said to be evil, so that may explain its failing. See, this time, GOOD wins because EVIL is dumb, unlike what Darth Helmet said. 10 points if you get the reference.
Monoblos
Weapon: Thunder Greatsword/Hammer/Huntinghorn/Gunlance
Breakables: Horn/Tail
Notable Moves: Charge can get stuck in some walls, burrowing
Location: Desert
Notes: This is logically the second-to-last one I beat, excluding Tigrex. I figured it out: Aim for the neck and the base of the tail! Yes, we're busting his Jewels. This means that none of his attacks will hit well.Watch Out, his charge can be tricky to dodge. Avoid attacking his head, he has the toughest in the game (Him and that 'Tops Frill)
Basarios
Weapons: Water or Dragon weapons that can attack his belly well/ Blue+ sharpness
Breakables: Tail/stomach(3x Damage! WOOT!)
Notable Moves: Gravios Bean Fake-out, Miasma, Hiding as a rock formation
Location: Volcano
Notes: The first Volcano boss! Basarios can resist many attacks on his back. This mans Hammer is out, with its overhead swings. HuntingHorn may also be out, and Greatsowrd can't use charges slices. This leaves the low power weapons: SnS, DS, Lance and Gunlance. I recommend Lance. He's very easy besides his hard shell, and most of his attacks miss badly. My only danger was the Miasma Gas.
Shogun Cerenetaur
Weapons: Thunder Impact
Breakables: Claws, Shell
Notable Moves: Double range in rage mode, can jump on ceiling, burrowing, water trap beam
Location: Volcano, Swamp
Notes: The Yin to Daimyo's Yang. This guy is all about attack. He has all sorts of moves to kill you. He also went for a Gravios Skull, Lobster Shell and Conch Shell, all of which are weaker than the Monoblos Skull. If you lose focus, he will kick your ass!
