 Mysen-Bergen-Skedsmo
Tom here. I think Joanie said it best in her own blog… Bergen was a fun city to be in. Along with the expensive beer we experienced an exciting vibe. People from all over Europe and elsewhere were all in town celebrating one thing or another. Some were like us, joining the party just to be part of the scene. Friendly too! Ah, Kurt.

Before traveling to Bergen, we spent time in Mysen, which is only 20 minutes from the Swedish border. That’s important, as many Norwegians find shopping in Sweden much cheaper. Although this particular shopping center Tøckfors, was owned by Norwegians. Such is the Scandinavian economy. Had a great day with an architect Bernt Bekke who designs housing and … oil platforms in the North Sea. Who knew architects did that!? Wrapped up that day at TTC, a company that manufactures fan coils. The director reminded me always to leave enough room in buildings for their equipment.

Now we’re in Skedsmokorset (Skedsmo, for short). Today we had a guided tour of the Oslo Opera House and the city fortress and WWII Resistance Museum. Tonight is our penultimate Rotary Club presentation. A sad reminder that we will soon be leaving this wonderful country.
