Constitution Day
Ugh! I twisted my ankle today on the uneven cobblestones of Halden. It’s relatively minor and I can walk around, but it’s definitely slowing me down. I’ll likely miss tomorrow’s 10K hike to rest up (can’t say I’m real upset about that). Today was Constitution Day, something we as a team have been looking forward to and hearing a lot about. We began early at the memorial park that overlooks the city. The children’s parade is the real focus. Kids from several area schools march down the historic center of town. The “russ” students (high school seniors) stole some attention by running past everyone blowing whistles. But it was a fun and festive day, save for the cold and rain showers. Felt like Februrary! I wanted cooler weather, but for one day at least we’ve returned to winter. Be careful what you wish for.
