 Christ - What Actually Happened!

The gospels (Matthew and Luke) relay the beginnings of the one called Christ. (Why Mark and John do not relay, I don’t know. Maybe they knew something).

 Extract from Matthew 1:18-25:
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.

20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:

25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
Extract from Luke 2:1-7:
1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.
2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)

3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.

4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

With some slight variation they kinda tell the same story.

I posed a simple question to the universe: “What is the truth about Christ?”

Take heed and look inwards when reading this text. For it was an answer to the above question that I asked the universe.

Here is what was revealed to me:

 Conception

Joseph had premarital sex with Mary and she came to find that she was pregnant. In those days this was not a good situation to be in. This was alluded in the text from Matthew 1:19. What actually happened was that Joseph was so disturbed by this circumstance that he went to sleep one night asking how he could address this situation. Well, it was in his dreams that he had the angel Gabriel appear to him telling him what was revealed in the scriptures. When he awoke, he told this to Mary, who understood that this was the only way out if such a sticky situation. They then made the announcement to the world after agreement to this story.

Isaiah 7:14 prophesied an event. The child was to be called Immanuel. They chose to call him Jesus. Contradiction there.

Childhood

Once Christ was born, they had to continue with this path. They told Christ of his sovereignty. Being a child, he was told that he was indeed different from other children. He believed this and conducted his early transactions is this way. He knew nothing else.

The story in Luke is presented to support the theory as the scribes did not know of this circumstance of his birth.

However, the last we here about Christ is when he is Twelve years old. He then disappears for 18 years and there is no recorded text about him till he meets John the Baptist.

18 years of Youthful Christ

What happened to him during these 18 years? (I asked).

In order to be who he was claimed to be, i.e. the son of God the almighty, he had to have some tools under his belt to reveal his powers. For this he had to be wise, sharp, and also a miracle worker. These things he learnt during his tenure under wise folks and mystical teachers. Here he connected the story of the Old Testament through the law to his new views of life. The most powerful message from him was that of love for one another.

This is the same message that can be found in many of the other religions, including Buddhism. There is no difference here.

Christ at 30yrs

The rest of the story is somewhat revealed in the rest of the scripture. But why is his path so similar to that of others?

He read many historical texts and mythologies and found many that seemed to have been accepted of divine individuals. Examples are those stories of Attis, Mithras, Buddha, Dionysus, Herecles, Krishna, Osiris, Zoroaster. He mirrored the characteristics into his teachings. This way it would be accepted that he was indeed divine. As long as he showed similarities to the mythologies, he would be accepted.

His advantage was that he was actually a real human being as opposed to a legend. He was the “real thing” according to the people at the time. Still, many did not fall for this and thus had him crucified.

The circumstances around his crucifixion were also part of the plot in that he had to be taken down quickly so that he could be “brought back to health” for the fulfillment of his prophecy of resurrection. Christ predicted this when he talked about Jonah being in the fish’s belly. However, there is contradiction in the story of three days and nights.

Matthew 12:40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Well as the accounts in the gospels go, he was actually buried for one day and two nights.

There are many other instances in the Bible where contradictions do not support the divinity of Christ and also the inerrancy of the Bible.

This compilation was conducted after the events to establish divinity and so embellishments were incorporated.

So, there you have it. The revelation of the universe to me after asking some simple questions.

wow whatever you asked, your "universe" gives pretty detailed answers. It was not the external universe, but your personal inner universe you seemed to ask. This sounds similar to the beliefs of a 5%er anyway, and if that is what you are you are definately not a freethinker.

RockIslandSlim,

Thanks for your comments.

Based on your comments, you must be part of the 95% that does not believe this.

Where did you get your statistics from?

You seem positive that I was not asking the "external" universe.

What facts do you have to support this conclusion?

The information presented is more believable than that which the "95%" of people are choosing to believe.

Who would you then say is NOT a free thinker?

I admire you coming up with your own answers to your questions. Its really bout faith and what you read in the bible as stories and what is written but this was the first thing I read and I enjoyed... God Bless
