Man's body found by police dog
A search for a 62-year-old man who went missing from a special-care home on Elmwood Drive in Moncton ended tragically late Sunday afternoon when his body was found by a police dog. Codiac Regional RCMP and the Tri-County Ground Search and Rescue combed wooded areas and went door-to-door in an area near the main entrance to the Irishtown Nature Park after employees of the home discovered the resident missing and alerted them. The RCMP withheld the name of the dead man pending notification of his next-of-kin. Codiac RCMP Constable Chantal Farrah said the investigation is ongoing and an autopsy would be performed to determine the cause of death, however, foul play is not suspected.
This man, was my boyfriend's father. He hadn't spoken to him in 5 years because of a few falling outs that they had. He is so full of regret and hurt that he didn't go see him the so many times he spoke of doing so. He was mentally ill, he got out on saturday night after he was given a sleeping pill and wasn't reported missing until sunday morning. My boyfriend is so confused about how to feel about this. And i don't really know what to tell him, all i can do is be there or him. So basically i'm posting this because if someone out there has a family member that they are thinking of reconciling with, then do it...even if the thought has only crossed your mind momentarily, I've seen what this has done to my boyfriend, you don't want to be in his shoes.
I think the thing that breaks my heart the most is that my boyfriend thinks it's his fate too...soon after we got a phone call from his brother telling us what happened he looked at me and said : "Promiss me that wont happen to me, promiss me you wont let me die crazy, scared and alone". AllĀ I could do is hold him. And that's what I've been doing.
