Sorrento, where the air ain't so sweet
Up at 7.15 thismorning and away at 8.15 for Sorrento.  When driving again, we can see why the air here is so bad (asthma anyone?), the farmers are burning off their leaf little everywhere and it seems people are burning off the rubbish they decide to collect in a pile (this is rare, mostly they just dump it where ever they may be it seems.  They appear not to have knowledge of bins).

We visited an inlaid wood workshop - pretty, but not really my thing.  A couple of our tour group bought some furniture, so it's good we visited an authentic one for them :).

We had a bit of a wander, walked past a beautiful castle in the valley below the road (is that the original level of sorrento or did they build it in the valley i ponder).  The view around the harbour is gorgeous and I get my first European cat experience.  Some of the others have a good laugh while they see me chase after a stray with the camera "slow down baby!"  This is something they will see often in the coming week.

The funicular to Capri was fast and busy - I wonder how the locals deal with it?

Capri is very special - pretty, sunny and a LOT less polluted than horrid Sorrento (seeing so few cars and a LOT less olive grove / rubbish burning off).  Lots of hill walking to see the specy sights.  The view from the garden on the far side is asounding, we see a couple who have just been married get their wedding shots taken with the ocean in the background.

Mary and I had a lovely lunch in the restaurant Pier recommended.  Mary had the Margeritta pizza and i had (dont laugh) Pork and Chips.  The waiter kept askign for french kisses as payment for favours such as ice - funny funny man (maybe he was greek - didnt have the Italian looks :P).

The boat ride after lunch was lovely.  We saw the grottos and natural arches (ok are they the same thing - as i said, info overload).  The rich homes adorned the far side of the island, with their amazing views and privacy from the tourist hordes.

Tonight we sat up in the "bar" with Mary, Pat and Keith, sharing a couple of bottles of wine (when we finally got some attention :P)
