| A Brief Pause... |

I'd like to take a moment to address the particulars of the plot regarding the book I've been posting chapter by chapter for the past week. I'm sure some of you are seeing echoes of Harry Potter here, in particular the protagonist-goes-to-school plot, but this, I assure you, is just a starting point for the story. To quote John Lennon, "Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans," and this, by and large, is the theme of the first book in the series. Katie has only one goal: to be a hero, but as you will soon see, circumstances conspire against her to set her on her true path in life. This is a coming-of-age story after all, and such stories often see the protagonist torn from a state of comfort and normalcy and thrust into a chaotic adventure that emboldens him/her in ways his/her previous existence never could. Such is the thrust of "The Book of All Things."
I'd also like to thank those of you who have been reading (or at least giving a look at) the chapters I've posted thus far. The Five Star ratings are certainly encouraging!
