Everyone's Girl

Pain is all she feels.
She cries out.
Those who here keep
Their fingers crossed.
This female needs.
It's not a joke.
She craves.
She bleeds.
Who is there to listen?
To wipe away the tears.
To tell her not to fall.
Hold on.
Death is not ready.

She cries out again.
We sympathize once more.
We cross our fingers
Begging her to stay.
We wait.
We hope.
We pray.
It's just to soon.

She sees a light.
It's at the end of a long tunnel.
As she walks toward it,
She feels the warmth of the
Sun on here face.
The voices begin to lessen.
She keeps going.
"I want to live" she proclaims.

As she reaches into the light
She looks in wonder at
All the beauty the world
Has to offer.
She wills herself to make
Peace with her pain.

We all witness the demise
of her fear.
She is shaded now in warmth
and wonder.
A butterfly lands on her finger.
Her brown hair flows in the wind.
We sigh with relief.
She is going to be o.k.

		That is wonderful. I hope that it helps a lot of people find the end of the tunnel and the light that is there.

		I actually do have 3 poems published. 2 in 2 different anthologies and 1 in a regular book. I got some kind of award. Some paper thing. I don't remember what it was or for which poem. It has yet to pay off though. Maybe someday.
