Religion – So What?
By: Expressing My Thoughts
Some say the glass is half full; some say the glass is half empty. I say who cares? Regardless half is there and half isn't. Some say why don't you praise God or follow the teachings of Jesus?
A. How do I know God exists and if he did create us, he just stepped back and let us corrupt and kill each other. Some say this is so we can be free and can do what we want. I say ok so he made us and left us, like a dead beat dad. If you don't blame him for the evil being done on this earth, then you can't give him credit for the "miracles."
B. The Bible you hypnotized hypocrites cherish so much wasn't written by God or Jesus. It was written by normal people, the same species that lies and cheats to climb the ladder of success just to sit there until they die and their memory fades off. Some say humans are just shadows of each other. These stories weren't made while Jesus was alive, it was written many years after his death, it was all written quotes they remembered by memory. Of course it must have been all written by memory because the bible is the most contradicting book made and there are so many contradictions in it on what happened and what was said. Hey maybe they couldn't remember or they didn't have this fable completely together.
Stories of a lady becoming pregnant without having sex? Jesus coming back to life after death? A dead man coming back to life?.... all these stories were retold by his disciples, the same disciples that denied him, and one that sold him for pieces of silver.
The church tells you not to have a materialistic mind state and I respect that, but not from a hypocritical organization. Where their priests take a vow of poverty and give up all their possessions so they can get closer to God, but then move higher in the church by how much money the make the church?! By having people make donations, putting the church in their wills, and etc. McDonalds and the Church own the most property around the world. Places such as the Vatican has several priceless works of art and the building is made of the most expensive materials when it was built, materials that would cost even more of a fortune to build today than it did back then. The Pope and the Cardinals are living this high class lifestyle and are surrounded by priceless works of arts, and they want us to help the poor?!
What's wrong with them donating a portion of the rich Church's money to help out the needy, or sell some works of art. Because we should take care of the children of God and not worry about our material possessions, right? I don't need a book, "son of God," or any of that stuff to tell me how to live and neither should anyone else. I don't understand why people obsess over religions, if you keep your head in a book full of lies your whole life by the time you take your head out of that book you noticed you wasted your whole life following the wrong path. The right path is your own.
I see religion all as the same concept with different directions on how to follow it. I also see it as a fairy tale like Santa Claus to keep people in line, busy, and oblivious to what's really going on around you. If you be good year round you get presents for Christmas, if you follow the teachings of Jesus you will go to the Kingdom of Heaven. If you're bad then you get coal for Christmas, and if you don't accept God you go to Hell? They say Heaven is the place of perfection where you are at peace, but I like to relate Heaven to happiness, as to this quote….
"Happiness comes along the road,
Not at the end."
