you're serious about wanting siblings? i have six. they suck. you are always in competition, the older ones are always picking on you, and the younger ones are always copying you and following you around. you never get alone time, and you always have to babysit for free. And whenever you and someone get into fights, it's always your fault

Join the club.I am also a single child.It used to be lonely,but not anymore.I think it's better this way.I can have my mother all to myself.LOL.Trust me,I think you are lucky.

I can see where you might get lonely, especially in a rural area.

I love my brother and sisters to death, and wouldn't change a thing! Children are a blessing! From the time I was a child, I always thought I would like to have alot of children, but that hasn't happened, and now I am 40ish, never married, and no kids.

It is hard to find a woman these days that is willing to bare many children, for that matter, it is hard to find a woman who doesn't already have kids. There seem to be alot of divorced mothers (and I dont mean just middle-aged either), or just women with children who never married. Even harder to find a woman that has never been married! Even alot of young women are divorced.

Hell its hard to find anyone who is willing to make a life-time commitment these days, because it is too easy and socially acceptable to get a divorce.

If I dont find a good woman soon, I will end up bein like my Dad, who had me when he was 51 - and I am the oldest of 3! I always joked with my Dad by sayin, "I hope longevity runs in the family!" ... LOL

depending on how old you are and what your plans are you could always move to a bigger town or city? ive made many of my friends through work and meeting them out clubbing and theyre more like my brothers and sister than my own brother and stepsister are!
people are people, u just need to find some good ones to make part of your own extended family.
i am sorry that you felt lonley/feel lonely sometimes. lonleliness is horrible.. but it affects people in big families too!

There is good and bad in both
I am the oldest of 6 and the step father of an only child
Yes you have no one to play with, but as you said you get more and all attention is on you which can be good and bad
You have no one to rememeber mom and dad with as you get into adulthood, but their time is yours when it comes to being w/ kids.
You have no siblings to get you in trouble, but there is this great feeling that comes from when your brother or sister are in trouble and you are not. I will never forget being in bed, supposedly asleep, when my younger by a year brother came home late and was getting yelled at....I would lay there and smile and know it was not me.
And while mom and dad put all their hopes and dreams into you, you have no one to be compared to
If I had had my wish my wife and I would have given my son a sibling or two. What I have noticed is that only children that have cousins that are nearby turn the cousins into quazi-siblings
And if all else fails, you can come be w/ your big family on thoughts

yeah i wish i had a sister.. someone to relate too instead of completely ignoring me like my brothers. its funny how everyone always wants the one thing they cant have.

I have three brothers, and although we used to hate each other as kids I wouldn't change a thing now ....... I love em .... But being an only child must have it's advantages hey ?
