My favorite lesson was lesson 5, because I really liked the idea that poetry was in music. My least favorite lesson was lesson 8 because I really disliked using the limited "magnets". I feel like I can't be creative if there is a limit as to which words I can use. I definitely view poetry...

Captain O' Captain tells the tragic event of Lincolns death, thats why it is a narrative poem. But Captain O' Captain is also an extended metaphor because it Compares Lincoln, the leader of the US to a captain of a ship and his crew!

It added the whole theme, that Jews were treated inhumane. The poem really affected me. The last picture really made everything more visual, "It was like Jews were being shunned by the world", or that's how they must have felt?

I wrote my poem at the point to view of a person who someone is trying to change. He/she compares themself and the other to birds, and the ocean. It related to the theme, that they'ld rather be themself then caught up in the society of today's world.

How do you really find the exact poetic device of certain setences? A few of the metaphors appear to be very complicated.
