*sigh* im actually kind of happy that this is one of the sites tat actually work and isnt blocked on the chool internet.. cool.. anyways im in band here at the HS.. the Flag team aka color guard whatev u want to call it idc... anways my BF plays trombone and e wanted to be section leader for trombone and everything but this dumb ass senior got to be it cuz her seniority or whatev.. she is a freakin terrible section leader i swear i have seen her all she does is act like she knows everything when she dosent and she goofs off the entire time.. we were working on our drills his morning on the field and she was being a bitch and geting ffrusterated so damn easy especially with my BF... grrl so now hes all mad and everything cuz he is pissed at her and he wants to quit band and i dont wan t him too cuz i love it when we have something together.. ya know? so im like his guardian angel and i feel like my wings are breaking because i cant make him feel any better about this all.. he really wants to be section leader i can see it whenever he talks about it. all the others in the trombone section are like you (my bf) are better at this. and the current chik wasnt there for band camp and is always late and everything and my bf is not only better at the instrument than her but he is more focused on what they have to do than her so whatev.. he said he was going to go talk to the band dirrector today and see if he can take her place because he acted like the section leader whenever she is gonme but when shes there he dosent have any more authority.. its stupid.. and it makes me mad...grrrrr
oh yeah we have another game next week and the bands not nearly ready for it yet

I did flag corp for a year and yes section leaders suck! before games our section leader or our line would go down the line and check and make sure your uniform is in order and if it's not then you get a demerit which is a detention or points of your drade and it sucked cause keeping those dumb butt shoes we had to wear clean was was a b to clean. I also think it's sweet that U and your bf can share something like that.

i am on the colorguard/flagline for my school...and i would say that section leaders can only do the job they are told to do...and also seniority should not have much to do with it unless it is between somebody who has been on it for 2 years vs. 1 full year...like say two people(a junior and a senior) have both been in band since freshman year...then it should only matter how dedicated and how well they do in band...the senior should only get the spot if they have deserved it...
another thing is that the person who does get the spot usually was the person that has missed the least amount of things...
