If people want to kill themselves then let em. All you have to worry about is yourself. If they want to puke up their stomach linings then by all means, let em do it.

First of all, I want to thank you.
Your rationality in this post is dead on. I too discovered this site in a similar manner. I was stoked at first - b/c I also needed the things you were looking for as well...above all to control my weight again.
It is messed up...but its what makes me able to handle things. I've been through a variety of eating disorders, and the one I'm caught up in now is far from desirable. Isn't it ironic how anorexia seems to be a 'coveted' illness? I came here hoping to get ana back in control. And I know it is back. And it's twisted, I see that.
...I've just been assuming that ppl are in the same boat as I am....(food-issues, could lose quite a few lbs, hell everyday worrying about it...) but I've been distancing that from the brutal reality of it all.
It does kill. What's more is that it's like a parasite. It stays with you no matter what.
And further more...it's insidious...I feel as though I cannot live in 'reality' cannot be 'happy' until I get back to my goal.
It controls your life.
And I guess the fact that I've reached out to this community in the first place is proof of that. Out of desperation? Probably. Clawing for control seems to be it's first gear.

yeah, i guess that's true... out of desperation is probably the best way to describe it.. but i still can't help but think there are people out there who enjoy this. and who don't really understand the true hell of anorexia.

Thanks for your honesty :) it makes me feel good knowing other people feel this way too ...
take care
xx

You wanna know why they drag others into it ? Yes, they are lonely. But it's also a way to justify how they are acting. They want to feel better about it. Would you want to do something on your own and know it could kill you ? No, you'd want someone else to come down that road with you. They may like the pain, but most people hate the pain of being alone in what they are feeling. No matter how masochistic.

Everybody these days want to be a victim of some sort. It makes them think they can have comfort when they need it. Victim's get comfort.

Your probably right... i think i can understand that, but it still think it's a bit selfish.
And your totally right about being a victim. Especially if you feel like you've been one for so long, it's comforting to know people will always be there.
