I'm sitting here with the need to write a blog and have no clue what to write about. To me, blogging is a personal journal although sometimes, I have a topic to write about. Today isn't that day! I just have to write.
I've facilitated eight creativity workshops over the years and the only 'requirement' to work with me was to promise to write three pages in a journal every day. Some looked on this as pure drudgery at first, but when they got into the rhythm of journaling, they loved it. According to Julia Cameron, the author of "The Artist's Way" which was the book we used for our workshops, right around the middle of your three pages 'the thing' comes out. Other times, it was right near the end.
I loved journaling and blogging took its place when I joined Thoughts.com. Blogging is a great outlet and when I don't blog, it's like I feel....well, constipated! LOL! I function better with a blog a day :) So, I will just keep writing here...
At times, I have a question or something on my mind and through writing, I uncover answers and/or develop a new perspective or path towards clarity or a better understanding. Today isn't that day!
Other times, I've experienced something funny or unusual in my life and I can't wait to share it with you. Today isn't that day!
On occasion, I've got a relationship situation or a question about men and relationships that I would love your input or two cents about. Sometimes, I want to share a book or movie with you, but...you guessed it! Today isn't that day!
Wait, I take that back! I can highly recommend ANYTHING Anne Lamott writes and I am now reading "Eat, Pray Love" by...Elizabeth...damn, I forgot her last name and I left the book upstairs! Well, anyway it's a super, laugh out loud book and I HIGHLY recommend it :) I've heard it's being turned into a movie, can't wait for it.
I spent today with my daughter and we had a fun day (we always do) although I could have done without the two hours we spent at the Department of Motor Vehicles, yuck! I never seem to have everything they require for anything, but today, we had it all and the lines were moving right along. Pretty painless, really.
Last night, A and I went out for pizza and had the BEST pizza outside of New York City, just amazing. That's quite a coup, really! We love pizza and as one of Brooklyn's sons, A knows pizza :) We had such a good time and killed a nice bottle of Malbec, nice evening!
My cold must have been an allergy to something because I've stopped sneezing and felt great by last night. That was great news as I totally ran out of tissue, tp, paper towels, and paper napkins. I was going to have to resort to using my sleeve any minute! Not really :) Glad that's over and thanks for all your get well wishes!
So all in all, I've had two very nice, rather uneventful days and nights IF you don't count the the man who last night drove his car into a parking spot across from my house and didn't or couldn't stop. His car went up over the curb, through the assorted azaleas and rhododendrums right smack into the brick wall of my neighbor's living room. The driver's car didn't end up in their living room, which was a very good thing, but it did scare my neighbors half to death! The police were called, neighbors immediately gathered outside to inspect, be nosy and tut tut under their breath, but I'm not sure how that ended up. A and I didn't go over :) Faulty brakes, not paying attention, a DUI? No idea, but I am very thankful no one was hurt!
You see, you really do need to keep writing and read blogs all the way to the end cuz ya never know :) I'd totally forgotten about that little incident until just now!
Peace and love.
