Warning : Easy's gone mad and can't stop putting music in her blogs! lol
I promise I'll grow out of this phase, my soul is just needing a little harmony to smile lately,
but I guaranttee you by the time you get to the end of this post,
you will be rocking in your chair and cracking up at the music
I've chosen this time! ... So if you will bare with me.
Lately when we've sat down to dinner, the three of us have started
a new ritual of "BEST" and "WORST".
This is something that I saw on TV, forgive me for I cannot remember where. But I remember watching a family sitting down to dinner and going around the table sharing their day with each other. But with a difference.
They shared their day by giving their BEST or Highlight of the day,
and their WORST or Lowlight of their day.
I started this about a week ago, and at first Master 5 didn't really contribute, but as we've continued it, he's worked out how to answer and he is hilarious.
Tonight Miss 8 gave us her best and worst.
Worst = Going to school,
Best = Having Fun with her friends at school, and going to McDonalds after school.
Master 5 was so cute when he gave us his, he is really excited joining in on this as he said something like this,
" Best was playing at Kinder with Jordan (his best buddy).
And Best was going to McDonald's after school pick up."
He beamed at us thinking or should I say knowing he had covered two things for his day. It was so cute.
He set the pace for the rest of the evening,
it was Upbeat and positive.
Oh in case you are wondering mine were Worst = working (from home) Best = Picking up the kids and getting cuddles!!
(*btw - we went to McDonalds for a Caramel Latte from McCafe. I sat with Kaybee and we caught up on life, while the four kids played enthusiastically in the almost empty play area. It really was a great idea of Kaybee's)
After we'd finished tea (sorry DINNER!!) foty arrived,
he was looking tired and slightly ruffled.
So after dancing to the start of "10 things I hate about you"
with Master 5 I retreated to the study.
Miss 8's class is having a celebration of the end of Second Term tomorrow so she wanted to make some cupcakes
to take as her "plate of food".
I offered to help her, but she wanted to do it with foty,
since he never "does stuff like that" with her.
I hear Miss 8 asking her Dad (foty) to help her do it.
All the ingredients were out,
all he needed to do was follow the instructions!
All i heard was him say
"I don't know how to make cupcakes,
and Master 5 wants me to watch him play PS2"
Miss 8 replies,
"Well FINE! I'll do it by myself then."
She sounded a little hurt.
So I walk out to see what's going on.
"What are you doing?" I ask foty.
He explains the situation, both kids want his attention ...
I look surprised at him as he moves
toward the lounge where Master 5 is.
"What are you doing?" I repeat.
"What do you want me to do? They both want my help.
What can I do?" he says helplessly.
"What do you want me to do??" I repeat.
"Yes," he replies, thinking I am going to offer a suggestion.
"What do you want ME to do?" I say again.
He stops and looks at me, and cocks his head slightly
to the side sort as if confused.
"I have this situation on a daily basis, "
I continue.
"What do you want ME to do?"
I say again driving the point home.
He looks at me and is about to respond,
looking me directly in the eye he surely
sees that look in my eyes, telling him (i hope)
that yes I am having a dig at him
abandoning ME, leaving ME to do all the
stuff that he's meant to be here to help with.
They are HIS kids too... and he's simply not here.
He is being childless and 30 again!
I hope he takes it to heart and feels guilty,
because every day I have to make choices,
and not just until 6pm when he would get home.
But until the children are in bed,
and even then sometimes when they wake.
But anyway on with my evening.
He leaves us in peace at 8pm.
Strangely enough he doesn't linger
and has the kids in bed right on the tick of 8pm.
He is stern with them about not being silly!
Heck he's only here once a week for
their bedtime surely he could relax a bit.
But I guess he's hungry and wants to drive
the 40 minute journey to his Mistress... oh sorry fiancee!
So he tells them to stop mucking around...
kisses and hugs them and leaves.
*Good riddance Evil Twin says*
Now in between all this the cupcakes have cooked
and have been put on the bench to cool.
I have to ice them for Miss 8 -
as I don't have a spare minute in the mornings.
This is where the TITLE of this blog comes into......
I am sometimes a bit wacky or quirky I like to say.
When we made the cupcake mixture I suggested
we put some "ROSE PINK" food dye in it,
which turned the cupcakes a PEACHY PINK color.
When cooked they looked Lovely!!!! LOL
BUT then I decided to put some
BLUE food dye in the icing sugar I had to make. . . .
Only problem here is that the icing sugar
was not enough by itself so I added cocoa,
which made it chocolate flavoured and brown.
Did I think about what I was doing??
A little bit.
You see the problem is ... BLUE mixed with BROWN makes .....
well it makes this really yukky meconium poohy color! ...
Chebtastic and Geordiedreamer will be able to visualise this color!
And since I'd used the last of the Icing sugar
I had to go ahead and well just spread it. It looks gross.
It seriously looks like I've dipped
the PEACHY cupcakes into a pat of cow dung,
oh wait if that's not visual enough for you,
imagine a cow with the "runs" and
I've dipped these cup cakes in it!
I did eat one, and well it tasted great.
I guess Miss 8 will be bring home a lot of
cupcakes tomorrow!! LOL
Anyway hope you are all having a great day,
while I go to bed! See ya in the morning.

Well if she does take them and one kid is brave enough to eat them they all most likely will join in!
Hope she isn'too hard on you for your color coordination.
ah...babies daddies are oh so much fun.....Princess' father once looked at her after she begged him to play hide and seek, he looked at her and said "daddy's really tired right now" when he caught me looking at him he actually said "what, I'm exhausted"......Fucker you only see her 30 minutes a week and you're honestly gonna sit there and tell me that you're just gonna watch her run around????
I heard of people doing that best and worst thing before too. Maybe it was a movie or tv show I saw it on too. But I don't have a clue. Sounds like a good idea for the family.
Easy, *hugs*
Your posts about your kids really touch my heart, and it just makes me want to reach out to you and tell you that you are an amazing woman, an amazing mother, and a fantastic human being. i take a lot of strength from your posts...your amazing at handling situations!!
kudos to u...
Yep..been there.. done that with the cupcake thing. Kids will eat anything so don't sweat it. Ha!
FOTY just doesn't get it that you live that life all day every day. Sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees. Maybe someday he will..but I doubt it.
