I lit a candle and placed it by my bed,
Just like you had asked.
I lay awake waiting, breathing slowly
Hoping the moment would last.
My eyes closed
You were not coming.
I felt lonliness wash over me
As I wept desire was betrayed.
Then I felt your arms around me
and your breath against my neck.
You turned and kissed me,
I held you tight, even though you smelt of beer.
Your tongue was soft and wet
It tickled me as you nibbled my neck.
The light flickered on your face
as you made love to me that night.
The way your eyes looked into mine
I hoped it would be fine.
We had forever baby
But that was when I knew you were mine.
