I've been fortunate (??) enough to be given one of those names that can be spelt a few different ways.

Sometimes it really irks me when people do not take the time to spell it correctly, especially when it is at work, where they see my name which is automatically corrected from the public name and address book that it is stored.

Now this could be getting a little anal, but please please please take a minute to ensure you have my name correctly spelt.  Today I have already had 3 people send me emails where the TO: field CLEARLY states my name is spelt with an "ie" at the end..... so why then would they be ignorant/arrogant or too damned lazy to not notice that and spell it correctly when they address me a few lines lower in the email??  But oh no, they spell my name with a "y".... ignorance is bliss!

Is it too much to ask!!???
Oh by the way I did the same thing to my own daughter, by spelling her name with an "ey" at the end, opening up the possibility of the "e" being left out.

Why am I so particular about this?  Probably because I do take the time to look at how someone's name is spelt before i go and send them emails.... it's only fair I think!
